Accredited Family Law Specialist

Partner

Caterina (Cathy) is a Partner and Accredited Family Law Specialist.  She has practised exclusively in family law since 2005.

With experience in all areas of family law involving same sex, de facto and married couples, she takes a professional, dedicated, and compassionate approach.

From complex property matters, children’s matters, abduction and child support Cathy takes a solution-based approach to resolve matters expeditiously and commercially.  Cathy has a particular interest in drafting and reviewing Financial Agreements, including “pre-nups” which are gaining popularity as parties seek to quarantine or protect their assets in the event of “uncoupling”.

Clients who have worked with her regard her as providing honest, realistic advice and options, being transparent and upfront, having attention to detail, being a clear communicator making complex legal issues and processes easy to understand. She is always focused on being supportive, quick to respond to their queries and empowering them to take control of their lives as they move forward.

Prior to working exclusively in family law, Cathy’s legal experience was founded in commercial law at a National top tier law firm and at the exclusive Clyde & Co, in Highgate, London.

She is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Australian Law Council (Family Law Section).  She has presented at family law conferences, to commercial law firms and accountants.

Cathy’s second language is Italian. She also volunteers her time, working in the kitchen at the Salvation Army in the CBD.
